rubberband point extraction

luca
Hi everybody,
i would like to extract from a PointXYZ cloud the set of points laying
within the prism generated "extruding" a set of ordered points (a 3d
closed polyline) along a given direction and distance. Is there any
suitable filter yet implemented in pcl?

Do you mean a convex hull, which is indeed implemented in PCL?

PCLVisualizer has already this feature.
Hit x while inside PCLVisualizer window and it will turn into rubber
band selection mode.
You will have to set the area picking callback and that is it.
Just be carefull that if your data is compromised (with nan values for
instance) the indices you will get may not be correct.

Cheers,
