perception_pcl trunk: flann fails to compile docs

Antons Rebguns
Hi folks,

I am trying to switch to latest perception_pcl stack and flann package has trouble compiling. It looks all the code compiles fine and it just fails trying to produce the docs. Here is the output:

<snip>
[ 80%] Generating manual.tex
[ 80%] Generating manual.pdf
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-1.40.10 (TeX Live 2009/Debian)
 restricted \write18 enabled.

make[3]: *** [doc/CMakeFiles/pdf.dir/all] Error 2
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/anton/ros/stacks/perception_pcl/flann/build/flann-1.6.5-src/build'

make[1]: *** [install] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/anton/ros/stacks/perception_pcl/flann/build/flann-1.6.5-src'
make: *** [installed] Error 2

Am I missing some dependencies, I have all kinds of latex packages on this machine?

Thanks,
Anton

Anton,

Is this using trunk?

Marius fixed this bug in trunk. We're "almost" done with the work for a 0.7 release, so we'll push this into
tags/unstable soon.

You can of course also install whatever latex package FLANN needs in case you don't feel like upgrading as a workaround :)

Cheers,
Radu.

Antons Rebguns
It also looks like the pdf was built properly as far as I can see.

Hmm, until Marius takes a look at it, see if you have the following packages installed:

texlive-latex-base
texlive-latex-base-doc
texlive-latex-extra
texlive-latex-extra-doc
texlive-latex-recommended
texlive-latex-recommended-doc

Cheers,
Radu.

Radu,

Thanks, that fixed it. I guess I didn't reinstall all the latex stuff after my recent Ubuntu reinstall.

Thanks,
Anton

In any case, it's a bug, so thanks for reporting it! We can either add latex to rosdep, or patch the Makefile. Marius?

Re: perception_pcl trunk: flann fails to compile docs

Antons Rebguns
I'd probably go for the Makefile fix, latex is a pretty heavy dependency, it just installed over 300Mb from the 4 packages I was missing.

Done. Can you please svn up in flann and see if it works?

Re: perception_pcl trunk: flann fails to compile docs

Antons Rebguns
It doesn't build the docs anymore, so it shouldn't be a problem if latex is not there.

Thanks for the quick fix!
