Visualize a 3D point cloud into a PDF document

Hello,

Does someone have any experience in visualizing a 3D point cloud into a PDF document?

For my project, it would be very nice if the reader could turn the point cloud in my report or if it would turn automatically showing the different sides. I did found PDF3D, but if I'm right this is not suitable with the .pcd file format (http://www.pdf3d.com/file-formats/) and I don't know to which file format I should convert to keep the visualization of the point cloud the same (as much as possible). I don't want to have a mesh of my point cloud.

If anyone has any suggestions or experiences to share with me, I would be glad to hear.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,
Dini

Hello,

There is way to add meshes into a PDF file with the U3D format (available in Meshlab):

For point clouds, I don't know how to do it and if it works.
Note that this solution will only work with Adobe Reader.

Sketchfab allows to upload 3D meshes but doesn't display point clouds.
There is also a HTML viewer somewhere on the point cloud library website but I can't put my finger on it!
