Visual Studio 2012

Hey guys,

What's happening with VS2012?

Other posts seem to say that PCL is not compatible with VS2012. These posts are from as far back as January last year.

Has any progress been made?

Are there any alternatives to use with OpenCV?

Regards,

Daniel

Hi,

I'm a PCL newbie and using it in VS2012.

Just go to your Project Properties > Configuration Properties > General > Platform Toolset

and set it to Visual Studio 2010(v100).

Hope this was what you were asking :]

Cheers,

Just in case this isn't obvious, that doesn't compile your program using the visual 2012 compiler, which is what is usually meant by using vs 2012.  It simply uses the vs2012 interface to compile using the older 2010 compiler.  To use the 2012 compiler, you need to compile pcl and all of its dependencies first.  This is kind of a pain because openni refuses to compile with vs2012 (you need to modify the source or go to openni2).

I have a version of PCL on my personal repository that works with VS2012, but you'll need to install or build the OpenNI 2 SDK for it to work. I also have some sparse build notes that might help.

change Platform Toolset to VS2010 does not work for me (win8(64bit), Visual Studio (32bit))
After suffering from all kinds of strange errors, I finally successfully run one demo now:

What I did is just change Platform Toolset to Windows7.1SDK.

Don't know why but it just works!
