Poisson surface reconstruction

Halim Benhabiles
Hi,

I would like to know if someone has already tried to reconstruct a
surface with "pcl.poisson.h" ? If so, please provide me some
explanations about the procedure.

Cheers,

As far as I know the Poisson code requires some refactorizations, and that's why it hasn't been included in any release
yet.

Cheers,
Radu.

Hi,
I'm very interested in this algorithm as well, does anyone know about its current state (advancement), or when it's planned to be released ?

I'd also like to know if someone already tried it and if it's satisfying enough to be used (I would compile PCL from source in this case)

thank you :)

Hi,

The code is working right now, as far as I know. We currently just have a wrapper on top of Michael Kazhdan's implementation which you can find here: http://www.cs.jhu.edu/~misha/Code/PoissonRecon/

The future plan would be to have our own in-house implementation.

Cheers,
Alex

Ok thank you

I'm wondering : is the reconstructed mesh Delaunay-triangulated or not ?

There is also a VTK wrapper around Kazhdan's code that you could try:
