Multiple planes with Concave Hull

JorgeSR
Hi there,

is there a way to compute a pointcloud dataset that has two planes when
applying a concave hull? I can only get the perimeter of one of them, though
it's clearly visible that there are two.

Thanks!

Hello,

You should select the relevant points before applying a concave hull.

Is it possible to select them and after obtain boundary for each plane?

Hi Fabien,

Thanks for your reply. How do you select those relevant points beforehand?

Cheers.

Hello,

I'm not a RViz user and on your capture, I see the tool "Select" (in the top left of the screen).

I just wonder if it's possible to select relevant points before applying an algorithm.
It's an open question, maybe (surely) not the solution, but if you achieve it, let me
know please.

Cheers

Re: Multiple planes with Concave Hull

Sadly, RViz is just a visualizing software. Everything that has to do with
modifying the pointcloud has to be via programming. I thought about firstly
separate every plane available and then applying the Concave Hull, but the
problem is that by separating them, they become an unordered poincloud,
making it impossible to hull.

Any ideas?

I'm sorry but your statement is very "suspicious". Why would concave
hull require an organized point cloud? It's built on top of Qhull and
for Qhull there's no concept of organized/non-organized point cloud. It
should just work with a container of 3D points.

Cheers
