Is PCL an alternative to OpenCV or something that can be used with OpenCV

sazr
I've just stumbled across PCL, I use OpenCV for computer vision purposes. Is
this library something people are using as a computer vision library
alternative to OpenCV or used with OpenCV?

Given that PCL has the filter library, features library and etc. I imagine
it include most of the functions OpenCV does?

Hi,

I never used OpenCV before, but as you have some experiment about both library, finally do you think that PCL is an alternative to OpenCV for computer vision?

OpenCV is for image processing, PCL for point cloud processing, they
complement each other if you need 2D AND 3D vision, but there is almost no
overlap.
Robot Operating System (ROS) e.g. integrates both libraries for that reason.
