All-in-one installer for PCL 1.7?

Øystein Skotheim

I see on pointclouds.org that PCL 1.7 has been released. Can we expect an all-in-one installer for PCL 1.7 on Windows? (When?)

I would be very happy if you could make one for MSVC 2012 (64 bit).

Thank you and best regards,

---

I'm sorry, but the build infrastructure for the Windows installers is
broken. We need some volunteer to make them.

Cheers Jochen

Hi Jochen

Does that mean that the installation procedure stays the same as previous build 1.7 from source (before 1.7 is released, use cmake and stuffs to build from trunk)?

I tried build 1.7 from source for a couple times, follow all kinds of instructions, somehow it never worked...
use 1.6 all-in-one installer and almost everything work

can we expect the 1.7 all-in-one installer in near future?

Thanks

Building from trunk works fine, though the dependencies are a bit of a pain. You might find some of my build notes helpful.

The current OpenNI frame grabber will not work with VS2012 (OpenNI 1.x limitation), so that will remain broken until we have a OpenNI 2.x grabber in the trunk. I'm working on that.

Since VS2012 x64 is my primary build platform, I'll try making an installer once the grabber situation is resolved.

Hi all;

I am trying to build also PCL 1.7.1 in windows 7 x64 with MSVS 2010. I need the people detection module.
I have installed all the dependencies ( In the same machine it is installed PCL 1.6 with the all in one installer), but I have tried several times, the Visual Studio is generated, but when trying to build the ALL_BUILD project, it is a disaster.
So far, for me itis impossible to build PCL 1.7
Among other errors, this is the output from VS 2010

69>D:/PCL 1.7.1/filters/include\pcl/filters/conditional_removal.h(621): warning C4800: 'int' : forcing value to bool 'true' or 'false' (performance warning)

Hi Jochen,
I think many would like to help, including me but somebody from PCL develop community should
give us some pointers, like version of dependencies to use. In addition to that we need some list with
steps and description how to do each step. I think it is not big job for pcl developer to give us this information since this exists for pcl 1.6

Thanks
Nenad

Hi everyone,

I've recently found this blog, that can be of help for you.

http://unanancyowen.com/?p=712

There are all-in-one installers for vs2013 and vs2012 . So far I've been using PCL 1.7.2 All-in-one Installer MSVC2013 Win32, and succesfully compiled several PCL tutorials for Windows 7 x32.

The package has (PCL 1.7.2 master f8fde2a527, Boost 1.55.0, Eigen 3.2.1, FLANN 1.8.4, VTK 5.10.1, QHull 2012.1).

Hope this helps...

Great find. I haven't tried the installers, but they sound useful (I see it doesn't mention OpenNI though). In any case, kwaegel has said he will attempt to build some All-in-ones soon (http://www.pcl-developers.org/1-7-2-Release-Candidate-td5709594.html)

I sucessfully used these installers, unfortunately the site is down. Any mirrors, or can someone hand me the vs2013 1.7 installer?
