I thought this might be interesting for people that use PCL for AR applications.

Hi,

I'm writing to invite everyone to learn about and, if interested, to join a community of developers and experts that
focuses on Augmented Reality.

The AR Standards Community seeks to accelerate adoption of Augmented Reality through the development of open and
interoperable data formats and interfaces for AR-ready content and experiences. Since 2010, community members
collaborate with a wide variety of Standards Development Organizations (SDO) and relevant industry groups that build or
provide open interfaces and building blocks for AR experiences with a special emphasis on detecting complementary as
well as overlapping work.

The open community’s resources, public mailing lists and meeting archives are available on http://www.arstandards.org

The meetings provide a neutral environment in which leaders can coordinate activities, and members, including AR
developers and stakeholders worldwide, can provide inputs to SDOs and industries interested in open and interoperable AR.

Reports about developments on standards and open source projects for open AR are issued during each meeting. The rest of
the meeting is informed heavily by the most current issues raised by AR developers and makers of AR development
environments and building blocks.

There are now five mailing lists. To begin, the best are these:
          a. Announcements-- I am the only one who publishes announcements of the upcoming AR community events I organize
(I do not post general purpose AR news, despite the title of the list): http://arstandards.org/mailman/listinfo/news

          b. Discussion of AR topics among anyone subscribed to the list: http://arstandards.org/mailman/listinfo/discussion

These are both archived using mailman so if you want to see past posts, they are there. You can see/learn about
the other lists here: http://www.perey.com/ARStandards/join/

Our next community meeting will be on May 29-30 at Columbia University in New York City. For more information, visit
http://www.perey.com/ARStandards/ninth-ar-standards-community-meeting/

There will be a session about Open Source projects for AR and AR enabling technologies.
See: http://www.perey.com/ARStandards/ninth-meeting-agenda/#Session4
Position papers welcome.

I look forward to the contributions of the Point Cloud community members.
